The Ancient Vessel, An Eternal Voyage.
The ancient vessel forming the logo of the Academy signifies humanity's eternal voyage to discover unknown territories and share its wisdom, artistic experience, and culture with the inhabitants of those lands — envisioning the world as a singular entity of humanity. In this endless exploration, each discovery is a stopping point of one experience, and the starting point of another.
The Artist is a seer and prophet who, through art, makes available both a truth and a mode of existence essential to human well-being. This is the guiding principle of the Academy, expressed in its motto, “Ars Gratia Artis” — Art for Art's Sake.
“This is mine, this is an alien –
Is the contemplation of the mean-minded;
To the magnanimous, the World itself is a family.”
Narayana Pandit, Author of The Hitopadesha — 10th Century
The Academy considers the role of Art significant in actualizing the concept of Global Kinship. It promotes the translation of important works of Art and Literature between foreign and Indian languages, while encouraging original creations and research in English, Hindi, Oriya, Bengali, and other Indian languages — alongside seminars, symposia, and conferences for the exchange of Art, Literature, and Culture across geographical boundaries.

“When we do not have the arts, a very important part of us begins to starve and our humanity begins to dwindle.”
Lead me from untruth to truth,
Lead me from darkness to light,
Lead me from death to immortality.
